Before exploring the new capabilities of your phone, you may want to make sure that you are using the latest version of iOS.

To see if you are using the latest, just go to Settings > General > Software Update to check. If you are using an older iOS, select iOS 16 and tap Install Update. Now comes the fun part! New features:

Password protection for Notes

This update will allow Notes users to lock journal entries, intimate shopping lists, and anything else they write.

To hide that secret list of fans and their phone numbers, you can now set up a passcode. To do this, go to Settings > Notes and set up a custom code or even lock a specific note.

In order to create a Notes passcode, iPhone users can go to Notes through Settings to set up a custom passcode.
